Nazneen completed a MSc in microbiology in 2012 from the University of Auckland, New Zealand
In 2014, Nazneen moved to Canberra and completed a MPhil in Parasitology looking at the role of platelets in a mouse model of malaria.

In 2018, Nazneen worked as a research assistant in Lund, Sweden at a biotechnology company and then moved to Germany for four years and worked as a research assistant in academia and industry. Nazneen moved back to Australia in early 2023, joining the immune development group as a research assistant utilizing stem cell models of type 1 diabetes led by Dr Jacqui Schiesser and Professor Ed Stanley.
