Details

Role Honorary Fellow (Off Campus)
Research area Stem Cell Medicine
Dr Louise Kung is a research officer in the Musculoskeletal Research group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).

Dr Kung is an early-mid career researcher with 12 years’ experience in the field of cartilage biology and extracellular matrix research. Her research focus is on identifying the pathogenic mechanisms underlying inherited skeletal diseases and osteoarthritis (OA).

Over the last 7 years at MCRI she has developed iPSC cartilage and bone differentiation protocols - recognized by the award of an MCRI pilot grant (2018) on stem cell research and in vitro chondrogenesis. Dr Kung is also currently the Senior Research Officer on an NHMRC project grant studying the role of microRNAs on cartilage development and disease using iPSC cartilage models.
