The Institute runs a Secondary School Work Experience Program tailored to Year 10 students interested in exploring a career in research. This program gives students an opportunity to experience different aspects of the Institute including laboratory and non-laboratory based researched and meeting scientists in action.
The Program has an online application process and selection. Please note we get a large number of requests for work experience and therefore only a small number of students will be successful for our Program.
The 2017 Secondary Work Experience Program concluded last June. Information for next year's program will be posted as they become available.
The Murdoch Children's' Summer Student Program runs annually from November to February, offering eligible students a paid research placement of approximately eight weeks duration. To be eligible for a placement, students need to be undertaking a university degree, enrolled at an Australian Tertiary Institute, and are selected on a competitive basis. Availability of placements is subject to each Research Group's capacity to take on a Summer Student in that year. Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
Information about the 2017/18 Summer Program will be available by October 2017.
