CEBU Research Methods courses
Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) offers a core sequence of research methods courses.
These courses are delivered by Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU), a partnership between Murdoch Children's Research Institute and the University of Melbourne.

Course sequence
We strongly recommend completing these courses in order as later courses build on concepts introduced earlier.
- Designing Your Research Study: Learn how to develop and refine your research question and explore study design options.
- Introduction to Biostatistics: Understand key statistical concepts, including sampling variability.
- Observational Studies: Modern Concepts and Analytic Methods: Explore how to address descriptive, predictive, and causal questions in non-randomised studies. Includes challenges of causal inference and regression methods.
We also occasionally offer a course on Clinical trial design and analysis. More information on these four courses can be found below.

Payment and registration
Payment via Unimarket (MCRI staff only)
MCRI staff must pay via Unimarket and seek reimbursement from an MCRI Cost Centre. Further details are available on the staff intranet.

Cancellation of registration
You can apply for a refund or request to change the course session to a different date pending availability if it is received seven (7) calendar days prior to the course start date. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations or non-attendance after this time.
